"The World Is On A Bumpy Journey To

A New Destination & The New Normal"

-Mohamed El Erian

Time suddenly changed me. The person whom I was in mid-march was completely changed into a different person by the end. I am not that person who used to play football, went to cinemas, and use to break the daily routine and came home late, eventually getting a good scolding, but now it never happens because now I am completely at home. And I found out that it's not only me but the entire human race that has changed. Once the lockdown was imposed the only friend of mine was my camera as it was not a COVID carrier. Thus I started expressing the present situation through it. I am indebted to the situation which has forced me to do this project. It showed us how we are being reluctant, even when we know what its consequences can be. Few wrong steps by the government, few laidback peeps, and few educated idiots have cost us such situations. Due to which many have lost their lives & many are on the verge of doing so.

Every coin has two sides, so even when we only highlight the worse, it is always good in that. I will love to uphold the works that our front-line workers are carrying out every day to prevent us. I salute their progress and effort, now it is completely on us as to how we take it. Rather than only our front-line workers, I would like to accost the persons whom I have impersonated through my pictures & the persons who have allowed me to shoot in the critical zones like the COVID prone areas/hospitals and which has enhanced my work. Maybe a day will come when again the situation will be normal and that time these pictures will be the documentation of the credence that has passed.

It not critical documentation of all the events, rather an overall representation of many sectors and how it has been impacted. I have depicted a glimpse of most important sectors of the people, i.e, changes in Lifestyle, Food & Hygiene, Transport facilities, and Hospitals. Other than this, I purposely included Durga Puja 2020, as this time it was unique. The book mainly implies the post circumstances that the current pandemic has led us into. The major objective behind the series is to throw the limelight over the change in the way of living in COVID.

People were never prepared for this situation, just if we see around ourselves, we would see, masks & sanitizers are an important part of our lives. The rise in online education, which was not expected anywhere in India, is now the only prominent source. The concept of work from home and many other related things came up. Though the situation is worse than what it is shown, still it was evident from the beginning, that we can overcome it, and now, vaccination has also arrived. So, I would say, at some point, it has taught humanity a big lesson as well as harmed us.
