"The Face Is The Mirror of The Mind "
-St. Jerome
We come across different faces in our everyday life. Every face has its dimension, scale, and emotion to express. All these faces have a unique vibe, by which a person judged. Though it is said that “Don’t judge a book by its cover” but it is also quoted that “The first appearance is the last appearance”.
Though we are talking about human faces, there are faces, that we tend to overlook in our daily life, which is not of humans but are formed by objects. Yes, an object also creates faces when it appears from a particular angle and it is completely based upon our imagination of how we are going to accept it. Even our mind makes us see a face in clouds, though it may not be there we tend to imagine it. In the case of objects, the scenario is different, a profile is created by an object either when light falls on it at a different angle or when it is placed in such a way where it creates a shape or when we imagine it that the object is creating a profile of its own.
Such is a series which I tried to create, where I tried to portray some unknown faces in our surroundings which is created by the objects which are not given much attention. It can be formed by a broken wall, a utensil, paper, car, torn cloths, chair, scooter, charger, or any other such objects. Even they portray emotions that can be similar to normal human behavior or can be unique showing their trait. It can be weird or unnatural but it is true that they also have their dimension and profile to express.
A skull.
A smiley.
An angry man.
A crying boy.
Frog faced.
Spiderman.
Pinocchio.
Confused
As quoted by many scientists, educationists, and doctors this phenomenon of seeing faces in the everyday object is termed as Pareidolia. This a common phenomenon where a person sees patterns, images, or faces in random things, where they try to put human traits on it. This is nothing but the powerful influence of our imagination over our perception. It is very interesting to know how our brains perceive things in the modern environment.
It's not a disorder of a person, I think it is great to find a human trait in normal things and give it a form that could define it uniquely. So find more faces and make more faces.
