DELHI HEATWAVES

In the month of May 2022, the mercury bumped high in Delhi. Indian Meteorological Department forecasted heatwaves in various regions of Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. An orange alert was issued in some parts of UP as the mercury touched 49 degrees Celsius.

Amidst, all this, day-to-day life continues as people can be seen going to work, tourists visiting the sites, and shoppers enjoying the market. Visitors can be seen in and around India gate and Rastrapati Bhawan. Even in this blistering heat, the central vista project work is going on. Laborers, guards, gardeners, and officials working can be seen walking down the roads and taking rest under the shade.

People can be seen resting on lawns in the middle of the road after lunch, they are the NDMC workers who are responsible for maintaining the roads of the Bhawan area. Other than tourist spots, commuters can be seen enjoying themselves in Sarojini Nagar Market and Connaught Place. People are buying Kulfi and ice cream to relieve themselves, while some are seen covering their faces to block the heat as much as they can.
